QMG acquires Ajansähkö in Jyväskylä and strengthens its position in Central Finland
Technical installations and property services group QMG acquires Ajansähkö, one of Central Finland’s leading local electrical contractors. The long-term goal is to offer a wide of services and contracting in the region
Ajansähkö, founded in 1987, is one of the biggest local electricity and telecommunications contractors in Central Finland. The company’s services also include security technology and automation, which enables special services such as lighting control for demanding properties. Ajansähkö works for the region’s construction companies and property owners, and they are especially known for extensive school and hospital projects. Ajansähkö’s turnover was EUR 6.3 million in 2020 and the company employs 30 professionals in Jyväskylä.
QMG is Finland’s third largest technical installations and property services company. In June 2021, KLAR Partners acquired QMG. KLAR owns also the Swedish Sandbäckens Group, and together they are building a leading Nordic technical installations and property services group.
The acquisition will not affect the personnel – they will continue in their current positions. The entrepreneurs, CEO Heimo Niininen and Erkki Ahtiainen, responsible for contract accounting, will continue to lead the company and they will also become shareowners in the new Nordic group.
Interesting real estate projects starting up in the Jyväskylä region
– Ajansähkö has a skilled and respected team in electrical, safety and automation services. The company works long-term with its customers and has a reputation as a trusted professional organization. It’s great to get to work together, says Mikko Sahikallio, QMG’s Regional Director in Central Finland.
Ajansähkö ses lots of growth opportunities in the acquisition. In electrical contracting, they have a good market share, but there are many large construction projects starting up in the region. There Ajansähkö and QMG can offer a wider range of services together.
– We have been thinking for some time about setting up a more diverse offering. Now as a part of QMG, we can offer larger entities within the group. This also opens great career views for our staff, says Heimo Niininen, CEO of Ajansähkö.
QMG continues to make acquisitions
QMG will continue with a growth strategy that combines acquisitions and organic growth. Over the past 18 months, QMG has made ten acquisitions in Finland and increased its headcount to 1,100 professionals.
– We will continue to build a regionally strong group. Locally renowned and skilled companies will play a key role in this. They know the customers and the local business, and the Group will support them, says Kimmo Liukkonen, CEO of QMG.
– We will also strengthen our coverage in Central Finland in the near future. We want to offer property owners and construction companies in the area a complete package of technical installations and property services, which we have conceptualized and already implemented in many locations, Kimmo Liukkonen adds.
