Quattroservices Kaakkois-Suomi Selected as the Electrical Contractor for the Kymenlaakso Central Hospital Renovation Project

Kymenlaakson keskussairaala

Quattroservices Kaakkois-Suomi Oy, part of the building technology group Quattro Mikenti Group, is responsible for the electrical contracting in the renovation of the A-section of Kymenlaakso Central Hospital. The contract is valued at €18.5 million. The project will be executed in three phases, with completion scheduled for the end of 2029.

Quattroservices Kaakkois-Suomi Oy will carry out the electrical contracting for the renovation of the A-section of Kymenlaakso Central Hospital from 2024 to 2029. The project includes a complete overhaul of the power distribution system. The project, executed as a cooperative project management contract, has Jatke Toimitilat as the main contractor. The total estimated cost of the project is approximately €100 million, with Quattroservices Kaakkois-Suomi’s share being around €18.5 million.

Comprehensive Electrical System Overhaul

The project involves the complete renovation of the old main hospital building, constructed in the 1960s, which houses wards, operating rooms, imaging facilities, and consultation and procedure rooms. The project, divided into three sections, will be handed over to the county of Kymenlaakso in phases.

“We are very pleased to once again be part of the renovation of hospital facilities. This is a significant project where the electrical systems of the old section will be completely modernized. We will renew the power distribution system in the A-section as well as the safety systems serving the hospital’s operations. We can utilize our previous experience from similar projects,” says Kalle Hentunen, CEO of Quattroservices Kaakkois-Suomi.

“What makes this project particularly interesting and challenging is that the work will be carried out in a functioning hospital environment. This requires strong expertise and careful attention to phasing, to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the hospital. We are working closely with the Kymenlaakso Welfare Area to ensure patient safety and minimal disruption to hospital operations,” Hentunen continues.

The electrical contract will initially employ about 10 professionals from the company, with the number later increasing to around 20 employees.

Strong Order Book in Southeast Finland

Quattroservices Kaakkois-Suomi has extensive experience in demanding hospital contracts. The company was responsible for the renewal of the electrical system in the A-tower renovation of South Karelia Central Hospital, as well as electrical work for the dialysis unit.

In addition to the Kymenlaakso Central Hospital renovation project, Quattroservices Kaakkois-Suomi is currently executing several significant projects in Southeast Finland. The electrical contract for the Inkeroinen multipurpose building in Kouvola and the electrical work for the Sammontalo multipurpose building in Lappeenranta are scheduled for completion in 2025. Quattroservices Kaakkois-Suomi is also responsible for the electrical work in the new Kajuutta building in Kotka, which consists of commercial space for a grocery store and student apartments.

In addition to electrical contracting, Quattroservices Kaakkois-Suomi has several framework agreements with public clients, through which it handles maintenance and fault repairs as well as smaller projects.
