Pekka Pöykkö has been appointed as the next Managing Director of QMG Partners
Pekka Pöykkö has been appointed Managing Director of QMG Partners, a service company within the QMG Group. He will join the company on 1 November and will become Managing Director on 1 January 2022.
Pekka Pöykkö, who has long worked in the building services sector, will take over the role of Managing Director of QMG Partners from Matti Ranne at the turn of the year. Matti Ranne will lead the sub-group until the end of the financial year and will then take over the organisation of the group’s strategic projects. Both will be part of the QMG Group’s executive board.
QMG Partners comprises ten building services companies with a combined turnover of EUR 56 million this year. The companies employ around 300 professionals. The service companies make up just over a quarter of the QMG group, which will achieve a turnover of around €200 million this year with 1,100 employees.
– As the group grows, we also need more resources for the management team. We are delighted to have Pekka on the QMG team to lead the services business, which Matti has grown with excellent results. Matti’s new area of responsibility, group strategic projects, will also be linked to our sister group Sandbäckens in Sweden, says Kimmo Liukkonen, Managing Director of QMG Group.
Experienced building services business manager
Pekka Pöykkö has worked for more than 20 years in positions of responsibility in the building services industry – at YIT, Caverion, Saipu, and most recently Consti. Service business has always been his focus, although he is also familiar with building services contracting.
– Matti and I have a couple of months to go through the set-up carefully. Matti has created a systematic approach to service companies and this is reflected in his good performance. My task is to continue developing national service models and customer relationships, as well as preparing acquisitions, says Pekka Pöykkö.
– QMG Partners offers a really interesting platform for developing Finnish and Nordic building services expertise, he says.
Pekka, 54, is originally from Meri-Lappi, studied engineering in Oulu and now lives in Kirkkonummi. In his free time, he enjoys nature, hunting and fishing. In the summer, he is drawn to the Tornionjoki River to catch fish.
