Kirsi Aropaltio appointed as QMG’s HR Director
Kirsi Aropaltio will start as the new HR Director and member of the Management Team of the building services group QMG on 14 February 2024. She has strong experience in HR management in international btob service companies.
QMG strengthens its management team by appointing Kirsi Aropaltio as HR Director. Aropaltio, who joins QMG from Drivalia Lease Finland, has also worked in HR management at the Lindström Group for many years. She holds a Master’s degree in philosophy as well as a Bachelor’s degree in economics.
– I have been working in various HR roles during the past 20 years. For example, I have been responsible for HR development, performance management and reward policy, international recruitment and more in various departments and companies in the country, says Kirsi Aropaltio.
– At QMG, my priorities will relate to the development of leadership and managerial work as well as strengthening the practices and policies of human resources management. I look forward to implementing these with the managers of QMG, she continues.
Building a Nordic and local business culture
Both QMG and the other Nimlas Group companies in Sweden and Norway operate according to a decentralised structure. This means that local subsidiaries have their own identity and a lot of decision-making power in their own business.
– The exceptional structure makes HR Director’s role particularly interesting. Each subsidiary has its own strengths, which we respect. We support the management of local companies with common practices in managerial work and recruitment. My first job will be to get to know the companies and how they operate, says Kirsi Aropaltio.
– I am very familiar with the Nordic environment and the working styles are very similar in these countries. I feel at home in an environment where English is the working language and Swedish has its place, she continues.
Management team as part of QMG’s growth strategy
The appointment of Kirsi Aropaltio is the latest step in strengthening QMG’s management. At the end of last year, Tiina Koppinen was appointed CEO as of 1 March 2024, and Vesa Vuopio was appointed Director of Sustainability and Sourcing as of 15 January 2024.
– Strengthening the management team is an important and strategic move for QMG. Kirsi brings us additional international HR expertise to support our growth strategy. She will provide us with strong leadership capabilities in HR management, says Kimmo Liukkonen, CEO of QMG, who will take on the role of advisor from 1 March.
Kirsi Aropaltio will also join the Nimlas Group’s ownership programme.
