QMG Expands Service Offering in South Savo: JP Yhtiöt Acquires Refrigeration Expertise

Technical installations group QMG continues to strengthen its position in the Mikkeli region. JP Yhtiöt is expanding its services from HVAC to refrigeration by acquiring the business operations of Kylmähuolto Leppälä Oy.

Founded in 1973, JP Yhtiöt is the oldest HVAC company in the Mikkeli area. The company employs 26 building services professionals and reported a turnover of approximately €6.1 million in 2024. In 2024, JP Yhtiöt strengthened its maintenance services by acquiring the business of Asennus Kakriainen Oy.

Now, the company’s comprehensive service offering is complemented by the seasoned refrigeration specialist Kylmähuolto Leppälä Oy.

A Trusted Refrigeration Partner in Mikkeli

Established in 1986, Kylmähuolto Leppälä is a well-known refrigeration expert in South Savo. The company, with an annual turnover of around €700,000, employs owner Sakari Leppälä and one additional certified refrigeration technician.

Kylmähuolto Leppälä handles a wide range of needs, from the installation to the maintenance and servicing of refrigeration systems. Its customers include industrial companies, energy providers, retailers, and property owners.

Sakari Leppälä has over 30 years of experience in the field and has developed the company into a sought-after and trusted partner known for its technical expertise and reliable service.

“Refrigeration is a highly interesting sector, especially with all the changes in legislation. By joining forces with JP Yhtiöt, we gain broader shoulders to grow and carry out larger projects together,” Leppälä says.

Sakari Leppälä will become a shareholder in Nimlas Group, the parent company of QMG.

A Strong Local Team as Part of a National Group

In South Savo, QMG companies include not only JP Yhtiöt but also electrical contractor Mikkelin Sähköasennus and HVAC service and contracting company Espit, based in Puumala.

This business acquisition supports QMG’s strategy to grow its service business and reach a turnover target of €550 million. In March, QMG company Quattroservices strengthened its fire safety expertise by acquiring the business of PaloControl.
