QMG expands to Satakunta – acquires Insinööritoimisto Unto Rantanen and Ilmastointi ja Pelti Hakala
QMG is growing in Western Finland by acquiring two significant HVAC and electrical companies from Pori. With these acquisitions, QMG’s national network is further strengthened.
Founded in 1984, Insinööritoimisto Unto Rantanen offers a wide range of electrical contracting services from design to installation. The company’s turnover for the financial year ending in June 2023 was 4.7 million euros, and it employs over 20 electrical professionals.
Ilmastointi ja Pelti Hakala, established in 2009, is a comprehensive expert in ventilation installations and maintenance. Their services also include the manufacturing of ventilation parts in their own workshop and building sheet metal work. The company employs 20 professionals and had a turnover of 4.6 million euros for the financial year ending in September 2023.
Meeting the needs of multi-location customers with a national network
QMG has made six acquisitions and two assets deals this year. The acquisitions in Satakunta are a continuation of QMG’s strategy-driven growth.
“Our extensive locally managed network serves national customers better, who are looking for committed and agile partners. We are a nation-wide local option, and our companies have not only utilized the group’s services but also found strategic cooperation opportunities from the network,” says QMG’s CEO Tiina Koppinen.
“We are actively discussing with motivated entrepreneurs across Finland. We value the local market knowledge and enthusiasm to develop operations, just like these companies in Pori,” says Johan Löfgren, QMG’s Regional Director for Western Finland and CEO of Calto.
QMG brings more resources and growth opportunities
The independent local companies that make up QMG, with their market knowledge, impressed the entrepreneurs in Pori. Continuing operations under established names and business models is also essential.
“QMG comprises high-quality companies across Finland, all strong players in their regions. It is a pleasure to join this group. We will continue with our agile team, providing diverse electrical contracting services to both local and national customers, such as construction companies and retail chains,” says Ville Juhala, CEO of Insinööritoimisto Unto Rantanen.
“Our customers, including cities, welfare areas, and industrial and commercial property owners, appreciate our flexible operations. This is further enhanced by our own workshop, where we can quickly manufacture ventilation parts to measure. Now we have even stronger shoulders to develop our operations further,” says Henrik Hakala, CEO of Ilmastointi ja Pelti Hakala.
The companies will continue to operate under their own names and at their current premises. All employees will continue in their positions. Henrik Hakala and Ville Juhala will join the ownership program of QMG’s Nordic parent company Nimlas Group.
